The Nevada Youth Action Council (YAC) is a council for youth ages 14-32 passionate about advocating for youth with disabilities. YAC allows young people to share their personal experiences, speak up on important issues, and work with local leaders and organizations. As a YAC member, you’ll help influence public policies, contribute to local programs, and create positive change in Nevada’s communities, especially for youth with disabilities.
Who Should Apply?
We are looking for youth who are ready to make an impact. You should apply if you meet the following criteria:
Age: You must be between 14-32 years old.
Identity: You identify as a youth with a disability and are interested in disability advocacy.
Commitment to Advocacy: You are passionate about creating positive change for disabled youth and advocating for equal rights.
Willingness to Learn: You must be open to following the Nevada Statewide Independent Living Council Code of Ethics and engage in community-based advocacy efforts.
It Helps If You:
● Have a strong interest in disability advocacy and community issues.
● Are excited about learning new leadership and advocacy skills.
● Want to collaborate with community partners to make meaningful changes.
● Are ready to advocate for the rights of youth with disabilities at the state and local level.
